Deiric Ó Broin (Chairperson)

Deiric Ó Broin, was appointed Chairperson of the Board of TU Dublin SU in June 2021. He previously served as President of the College of Commerce (DIT Rathmines) Students' Union and as the the first President of the Dublin Institute of Technology Students' Union. He has worked in higher education for over 25 years.

He is Professor of Public Policy Practice in the School of Law and Government in Dublin City University (DCU) and currently serves as Chairperson of Pobal, the public body providing management and support services to circa 31 programmes in the areas of Social Inclusion and Equality, Inclusive Employment and Enterprise, and Early Years and Young People.

 


Frank Crummey

Frank Crummey works in IT management and has over 15 years of experience in various senior IT management roles. He has a Degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering (DIT Kevin Street) and a Diploma in Legal Studies (DIT Aungier Street). Frank is a certified Data Protection Practitioner and has a Professional Certificate in Governance. 

Frank was Chairperson of CLAY Youth Project in Crumlin from 2013 to 2020 and he now serves as a Director on the CLAY board. In December 2020, Frank was appointed to the board of Leargas by the Minister for Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science.

Maria Hegarty

Maria has worked to promote good practice in equality and human rights promotion throughout her career. She has conducted research, developed equality and diversity policies and organisational strategies and delivered training in a range of organisational settings.

As founder and managing director of Equality Strategies Limited, she delivers equality, diversity and human rights projects related to age, disability, gender, civil status, family status, sexual orientation, religion, race and membership of the Traveller Community.

She is founder and co-ordinator of Diversity Charter Ireland, and EU initiative with 71 signatory companies, who come together to make a public commitment to both delivering good diversity management and promoting equality and inclusion as a business imperative. 

Maria is a Master Trainer for Managing Workplace Conflict (Mediation Training International/ Eckerd College, USA) and the PULSE Professional Trainer (PULSE Institute, Canada) in Ireland, has a Masters in Equality Studies, University College, Dublin, a Bachelor of Social Studies (Honours) Trinity College, Dublin and the Certificate of Qualification in Social Work (CQSW) Trinity College, Dublin / British Association of Social Workers.

Ciaran Crosbie

Ciaran has over 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry in roles across Quality Control, Operations, Continuous Improvement and Learning and Development as is currently Innovation and Learning Lead in Alexion Pharmaceuticals.

He has previously served as Deputy Convenor and Convenor of DIT Kevin Street Student Union during the establishment of the DIT Students Union. He holds BScs in Applied Biology and Technology Management from DIT and an MSc in Organisational Psychology from DCU.
