What is RAG?

RAG stands for ‘Raising And Giving’. Each year DIT’s Students Union will raise money for our chosen chary through events across the year. Every year students can nominate deserving charities which are then asked to come in and present themselves to your Student Council. The Councillors then vote on who they would like to support for the year. This year the DRCC was chosen as our charity 2018/19.

What is the Dublin Rape Crisis Cenre?

Since 1979, The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre has worked to prevent the harm and heal the trauma of sexual violence. They work with men and women who have experienced sexual assault, rape or childhood sexual abuse. Their  ambition is to eliminate tolerance of sexual violence in society through education, training and campaigns. When sexual violence does occur, the DRCC offers a range of supports including telephone counselling, face-to-face counselling, and accompaniment services. They also advocate on behalf of survivors of sexual violence to help ensure that they have access to responsive and sensitive services provided by law enforcement officials, medical personnel and the courts.

How can i get involved?

We will be hosting a wide range of events over the course of the year from bucket shakes to RAG events but we can’t achieve our goal without the help of volunteers. If you would like to host your own event from a bake sale or want to do a sponsored skydive contact our VP for Events at events@ditsu.ie.

Keep an eye on the DITSU Ents facebook page for the chance to get involved in raising and giving.
