Your DIT

Navigating your way around the DIT website can be a little bit frustrating - the phrase needle in a haystack comes to min, so we've designed a page that has all links and information we reckon you'll ever need for your time at DIT.
If we've left anytime out you can email info@ditsu.ie and we'll soon put it right!
Your Registration
DIT has changed the registeration process this year. The good news is that is its less complicated and almost completely hassle free. All first years will be registering in DIT Aungier Street (Google Maps), inductions for first years will still be held on your own site, DIT will send you all the information you need about when and where).

Your Library
There are seven DIT Librarys and as a registered DIT student you can use all of them, regardless of where you are based. You find the term opening hours here, but please note that these may vary according to site. If you have any problems getting to grips with any aspect of the library (from finding a book to photocopying) the staff are a friendly bunch and are always willing to lend a hand.

Your School
This can get a bit confusing. All you need to know is this - DIT is divided into four schools (Arts & Tourism, Business, Engineering & Built Environment and Science and Health), within these you will find your school. Each college has its own webpage and in turn almost all the colleges have there own website. The college websites tend to be buried a bit, but they are a great resource and its only a couple of clicks away. But if you need to get in touch with the adminsitrator of your course or you are looking for contact details for a lecturer this is the best place for all of that stuff.

Your DIT Sports
DIT offers a wide range of sports activites - from GAA to Rugby (click here for a full list of all the club offered) to the Fit 2 Go Club. There is also a couple of fully kitted out gyms and a swimming pool in Kevin Street that are available for students to use at very reasonable prices. There are also a limited number of sports scholarships available to our up and coming sports stars.

Your DIT Societies
Joining a society is one of the best ways to get involved in DIT Life, its a great way to make new friends, and if you are looking for something more than simply being a member, there are always opportunties to get involved in the organisation of societies. DIT Socs have a sign up week, where you can see what societies are aviable, ask questions and if you don't see a Soc that interests you, you can set one up yourself, its really quite easy (click here )
DIT Socs are also heavily committed to volunteering, so if doing a bit more interests you, sign up!

Your DIT Services
As a full time DIT student you are entitled to a fine array of services. There are two Medical Centres (Bolton Street and Aungier Street) which students can visit free of charge. There is also an excellent Counselling Service that you can avail of if needs be, as well as the Chapliancy Service. If you are starting to think about the future and wish to discuss it with the professionals you can make an appointment to see someone in the Careers Service. DIT also has a great Disability Service which makes effort to ensure that everyone has a fair chance at receiving the best level of education possible.

Your DIT Email
This one is self explantory. But even if you don't use your student email regularly, you should check it every now and then (once or twice a week is a good idea) if you want to read your student email. Any problems the DIT support team should be able to help.
