Elections 2010

BREAKING NEWS:

After a recount for the position of President the result stands.

Congratulations to EVERYONE who ran in this year’s DITSU elections 2010.  Putting yourself up for public scrutiny its not an easy thing to do (and if you think it is, there’s always next year!), so all candidates are winners in our books!

This was the first year that the Class Rep Convenors were voted in by the general student population, in the past the local class reps decided their fate.  It really made a difference in voting numbers, which where way up on last year - the overall tally was close to 3500, which means a lot more of you voted, which is great.  Of course our ultimate aim is to get every single student to vote!

The excitement was unbelievable in Bolton Street yesterday and at times the tension unbearable, those who were unable to make it in to Bolton Street in person were watching as the count was streamed LIVE to our very own website... we've been getting comments left, right and centre so methinks that it won't be the last time and event will be brought to you LIVE from ditsu.ie!
