Student Travel Options

There are a few option in getting yourself to college on time and safely. Unfortunately its up to you to get yourself out of bed.

For those of you who are active or lucky enough to live close to college, the cheapest way to travel is to walk or cycle. For those who live a little further away, walking or cycling might not be an option. Public transport is probably the best way to get yourself to college, whether by bus, train or luas.

Dublin Bus

Dublin Bus operates in both north and south side of the city and outer suburban areas. Bus fares will vary depending distance of destination. Prepaid tickets are available from over 400 ticket agents (usually newsagents) throughout Dublin, just look out for the Dublin bus signs.

Prepaid student tickets that are available (as quoted from the Dublin bus website www.dublinbus.ie ):

Student tickets can only be purchased with a valid student travel card ID, which can be gotten from your local Students' Union. If you do not buy a pre paid ticket you can pay as you are getting on the bus, however you do need the correct change, as change will not be given and notes are not excepted.

For those of you who like to venture the city at the weekend, there is  a “Nite link” service. This service is for Friday and Saturday only, which will cost you €5.00. This service starts at 12 midnight until 4 am. *Please note that the “Nite link” may not serve all areas and finishing times may vary depending on destination, so please ensure to check when planning a night out.
