Well lets see…some Rathmines
stuff that’s been going on recently – I’ll start with the good
stuff…water cooler’s fixed, sounds like Italian will be back for
the music students next year, the students union office is open Thursday’s
9-5, wifi and the informal learning space computer is fixed, the pool
table has the proper amount of balls (the things you learn in college),
new canteen furniture is on the way, we ate our weight in sweets at
Halloween, the library building is on the mend…
stuff still to do...have
a really fun Christmas week, laugh and smile loads at welfare week,
those damn hooks on toilet doors and mirrors in the attic practice spaces
have to be ordered (shakes fist at DIT), trying to get a better time
table for the B Mus Ed kids (I’m not god, but I’m working on it)
and the singing class arrangements for 1st year drama students.
PHEW, think that’s the major work at the moment.

Union of Students Ireland Annual Congress: March 30th - April 2nd
USI Annual Congress kicks off next semester on the 30th of March and runs up until the 2nd of April. Any student may apply and closing date is 5.00pm sharp on the February 18th 2010. Congress is a place where all student representatives from all over Ireland get to debate and mandate USI. It is a great opportunity to have an input on how our National Union runs while also getting the chance to socialise with other peers. Everything is paid for and you get to represent DIT at a national level. If you are good at speaking in public, have an opinion on just about anything and are interested in getting involved please email Claire at administrator@ditsu.ie
