For the third year running DIT joins forces with the Garda Road Safety Unit to develop new means of communicating road safety messages to young people.


CARS involves students from across DIT using their subject skills to explore different aspects of road safety as part of the Programme for Students Learning With Communities, as well as a range of road safety events organized by DITSU and DIT Societies.


This year CARS events in DIT will run for the week of April 19 including a public Showcase of students’ project work with speeches, awards and prizes on April 21 in Bolton Street common area from 12pm.

Road Safety Authority Shuttle

The main aim of the shuttle is to provide the general public and other target audiences with the chance to interact with various road safety campaigns and to spread the message about the importance of road safety.

What can you do on the shuttle?

  • practice your driving skills on our simulators ( car, motorbike)
  • enjoy a fully interactive road safety educational experience
  • test your hazard perception skills
  • bike along the coat through ancient jungles and many other exotic places (even outer space !) on our bicycle simulator
  • test your break reaction time
  • practice the driver theory test on board
The shuttle is designed to include:

  • interactive, educational road safety experience
  • presentation area, with lectern, projector, screen and seating for an audience of 25 people
