Tips when Applying for the Assistance Fund
- Read the appropriate application form carefully and ensure you are eligible. The fund is a hardship fund intended to tackle educational disadvantage by providing financial support.
- Back up documentation: Be sure to gather receipts, a recent bank statement, grant or loan documentation, lease agreements or rent books. Basically gather a paper trail that justifies your financial situation at time of application- both income and expenditure.
- Make a copy of your application (for your records) and double check that you have everything you need when submitting. You can send it through Internal post to the Rathmines office and we advise you follow up with a phone call to ensure they have received it.
- If you are not sure about anything when filling out the application, or after submitting, please do not hesitate in contacting us here in the Students' Union.
