DIT Students' Union organises the Class Rep system in DIT and our officers are currently electing Class Reps for every class in DIT.
Here's a quick intro to what's involved in being a Class Rep.
What is a Class Rep?
The Class Rep is the elected representative of the class, the spokesperson who represents students’ views at DIT at programme committee meetings, the problem-solver who raises issues that need to be sorted.
They are the contact point between the Students' Union and the class and get advice and support of the Students' Union if they have any encounter any difficulties and, in turn, inform the class on Union campaigns and activities. They can organise class parties and trips away and get info on any student promotions, freebies and deals available from the SU.
Class Reps attend the local Class Rep meetings and by taking part in Union campaigns and activities get involved in many aspects of student life, for instance from discussing how to improve the Library Services to organising events for RAG week. There are many aspects to the role and by getting involved Class reps can do great work and enjoy a wider college experience.

What exactly would I have to do as the Class Rep?
- Attend Class Rep meetings and let your classmates know what was discussed and pass on any important DIT / DITSU announcements to them.
- Attend the Programme Committee and bring all issues to the Committee and then follow up with feedback to the class on developments.
- Inform the Students’ Union about any difficulties your class is experiencing (we will advise you on tactics).
- Let your Classmates know about Students’ Union Events, promotions, offers, maybe organise a class party and also get lots of freebies for yourself and your class!

It's free and fun and will include a gala dinner with a special guest speaker.
Please try to keep this date free. We will give you letter of attendance for any lectures / labs that are on that day.
