Convenor Blog
05 December 2011Hi Everyone,
This will be the last blog before Christmas. First off I hope everything is going well for everyone. The year has flown in, with semester 1 really ending on a busy note. We’ve had numerous campaigns, the USI National Protest and RAG – Part one, all in a few short weeks. It’s been great to see the amount of participation from students in Bolton Street thus far. With lots more to do in semester 2, there will be loads of opportunities to get involved – so don’t panic if you haven’t already.
With exams coming up, and lots of assignments due in, I’m sure the next few weeks will be a busy time. So lads and ladies get the heads down, put in the work now and then kick back and enjoy the xmas. Have a good one and I’ll check in with you all in February. Merry Christmas.
Graham

ATTENTION STUDENTS!!!
Firstly I hope you've all had a great start to the academic year. This is my first blog entry but I feel it comes at the most important time of all. Things have been busy as ever within the students union. Now with Bolton Street being on review week all this week it’s been a bit difficult to keep everyone informed on the student march however Ciarán has sent out an email to every student email account regarding the upcoming national campaign. THE NATIONAL MARCH is on Wednesday 16th November at 1pm. We will be having rallies and class addresses all day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Be sure to get your class on board, we need each and every one of you to stand up and be counted when we try and combat efforts to put more cuts on education.
In other news, there are a number of other events and campaigns starting up this week. Feel Good Fortnight is commencing on Monday 14th - Friday 25th November. The campaign will come to Bolton Street campus on Thursday 17th/24th November and will focus on Physical and Nutritional Health in week one and Mental Health in week two.
RAG – Part One. This year DIT will have not one BUT two RAG weeks spanning over both semesters. There will be a range of different events happening. We would encourage everyone to get involved in ALL aspects of RAG week. Everyone should try raise as much as possible. Every avenue should be explored and if you are stuck for ideas call down to the office for a chat. We might be able to help. We will be kicking things off with the Charity Soccer Match - Northside V Southside on Monday 28th November – the only requirement is to raise a minimum of €50 - Easy. If interested call down to the SU office.
If you have any other queries be sure to call down to the office.
Cheers guys,
Graham
